so now that i'm done with moshr and i want my next project to be a more ambitious social platform. i just watched a video of a guy comparing backends and node + express (what i use) didnt do too hot. should i switch to a faster language to get more bang for my buck when i rent out servers or should i just stick with what i know? im a neet so i dont care about how long it would take me to learn a different language + framework.

@1 Raw PHP was a little lower than Node when it came to concurrent users, but with Laravel it was shit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQXFhh_PiG4

@OP ideas > stack first make a website that gets users. Then think about making it fast. You can always move to fastify for speed before trying to completely move out of node exosystem.

@3 even if what im building is better suited for a specialized language framework? i'm going to make something realtime and elixir/phoenix looks attractive.

go with golang and the standard library. if you must, use the fiber framework with templ (and maaaaybe htmx) and maybe tailwind css. this is all you need.
